Passport

Visa

For entry into Kenya, visitors may require a visa. The visa can be obtained upon arrival in the country or applied for online through the official website www.evisa.go.ke. The cost for a transit visa is $20(Prices my vary due to Various factors), while a visa not exceeding 60 days is priced at $50. This flexibility in the visa application process provides convenience for travelers, allowing them to choose the option that best suits their preferences and travel plans.

Currency

In terms of currency, the legal tender in Kenya is the Kenyan Shilling. However, US dollars, Euros, and UK pounds are widely accepted in various establishments, particularly in tourist hubs. It is advisable to carry some local currency for smaller transactions and in more remote areas where foreign currencies may not be as readily accepted.

Yellow fever

High Season

Kenya experiences distinct tourism seasons. The high season, from October to March, is characterized by favorable weather conditions and is the peak time for wildlife viewing. The low season, from April to May, sees fewer tourists, and prices for accommodation and tours may be more competitive. The peak season, from June to September, aligns with the Great Migration in the Maasai Mara, making it an ideal time for safari enthusiasts.

This includes one bottle of spirits, 200 cigarettes, a reasonable amount of camera equipment, film, and one tape recorder. These allowances aim to strike a balance between facilitating tourism and preserving the country’s customs regulations.

  • The safari costing for 1-3 days is done based on a 6 passenger in every 4×4 pop up roof tour van.
  • Safari costing for 4 and above days is based on a 6 passenger in every land cruiser (Jeep).
